The 8th DogRisk Seminar in Helsinki, 11–12 Sept. 2026

The 8th DogRisk Seminar: Evidence-Based Dog Diet and Health, will take place 11–12 September 2026 at the University of Helsinki, City Centre Campus (Pieni juhlasali, Main Building, Fabianinkatu 33, 00100), Helsinki, Finland.

Our eighth DogRisk Seminar will bring together international experts to lecture on the latest research in dog nutrition, health, and disease. The program will include presentations from leading researchers and clinicians in veterinary medicine, nutrition, and related fields. The seminar is open to everyone: veterinarians, MDs, nutritionists, dietitians, students, PhD students, researchers, pet owners, dog breeders, nurses and all other interested participants.

The seminar language is English.

You can also register here for attending remotely via zoom (same price). The registration fee includes the lectures, the coffees, and access to the recorded lectures.

• The seminar is free for all lecturers, students, University of Helsinki staff, DogRisk researches, please choose the right option from the Product variation menu.
• All others (e.g. pet industry professionals, vets, nurses, MDs, nutritionists, pet owners, pet breeders, pet shop professionals etc.) will pay 70€ for one day and 120€ for two days.
• There is, however, a discount for people with a retirement card or in military service, please choose this option from the Product variation menu.
• The pet food industry can reserve a table in the coffee area outside the seminar hall for 627,50€ (500 € + 25,5% VAT). This includes space for one table where 1–2 representatives may present their products and attend the seminar lectures. Companies interested in sponsoring the event are also welcome to contact the organisers (amanda.hielm@helsinki.fi)

HOW TO REGISTER: First, choose one of the product variations, make sure that you choose the right day (Friday/Saturday/both) and the right form (on site/online). You have to choose one of the product variations, then you can add an optional related product from the list (e.g. dinners or a company stand). Then fill in your contact details at the end, and then move to the cart where you can make your payment.

If a company or individual wishes to offer a seminar ticket to someone, the participant must still register and pay for their ticket themselves through the registration system so that we receive the correct information (dietary needs, name tags, dinner head count, etc.). The participant can later request reimbursement from their company or sponsor according to their internal procedures.

The dinners on Friday or Saturday are not included in the seminar fee and need separate registration.

• Friday dinner: "Pay what you eat" at a restaurant where we will make a reservation.
• Saturday dinner: Catered dinner, probably at Anna Hielm-Björkmans house, 50 €.

Usually all lecturers that present on site (not zoom) also attend the dinner so you will be able to mingle and talk to the lecturers and to the DogRisk researchers.

Also note that no travel or lodging is included in the registration price.

Registration deadline: 12 September 2026. You can register until the registration deadline, but please realize that if you register very late we cannot guarantee that there will be space at lectures, and dinners etc.

Cancellation policy: Participants may cancel their registration under the following conditions:

• 100% refund if the cancellation is made at least 2 months before the seminar (11.7.2026)
• 50% refund if the cancellation is made at least 1 month before the seminar (11.8.2026)
• No refund will be issued for cancellations made less than 1 month before the seminar.

Registration is always binding. Payment occurs immediately, invoices are not delivered. By paying the fees you accept the terms and conditions of the cancellation policy. Fees are payable with a credit card, mobile payments (MobilePay, Siirto), or through an online bank transfer (Finnish banks). Payments are made through the Verifone Finland Oy, BlueCommerce website.

Billing details: First and last name must be entered exactly as they are on the credit card used for payment. Order confirmation and receipt will be sent to the email address entered in the billing details. The company and address information fields are optional, but if you need your organisation's information on the receipt, you must enter the necessary information in these fields.

The conference organisers cannot accept liability for personal injuries sustained, for loss of, or damage to property belonging to participants (or their accompanying persons), either during or as a result of the Conference. The registration fees do not include insurance of any kind so please check the validity and coverage of your own travel insurance.

The organisers do not take responsibility for force majeure reasons for cancellation of the event (natural disaster, outbreak of severe contagious epidemic, major strikes etc.). In such a case, the organising committee reserves the right to decide about refunding of paid registration fees.
